Welcome to Machame Nkweshoo Cultural Tourism

...where tradition meet adventures

Since our establishment in June 2008, our primary focus has been on preserving the lush green environment by planting trees and engaging in agricultural activities. Our dedicated group of women from Machame village has come together to create this enterprise with the shared goal of making a positive impact. By promoting tourism, we aim to support women, uplift the community from poverty, and enhance children’s education.
Located on the verdant slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Machame is a rural village where the majority of inhabitants rely on farming, particularly coffee cultivation and the growth of vegetables and fruits. The strategic positioning of our village makes it an ideal location for cultural tourism ventures, particularly for those interested in acclimatization climbs up the mountain.
Apart from its proximity to Mount Kilimanjaro, our region boasts several historical attractions, including ancient Chagga caves, breathtaking Nkosalulu waterfalls, a rejuvenating hot water spring called Kikuletwa, and some of the oldest churches in the area, among other noteworthy sites.

Established in June 2008 with the vision of conserving the lushness of the environment through agricultural activities and planting trees, the women of Machame Nkweshoo came together to create; ‘Machame Nkweshoo Cultural Tourism Enterprise’. Machame is a typical rural village located on the green slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro with most inhabitants being farmers reliant on their crop harvests from coffee cultivation, the growing of vegetables and fruits. Its location being strategically located made it more effective to start up a cultural tourism enterprise especially for the clients interested in climbing up the mountain for acclimatization purposes. Besides the area being right t Mount Kilimanjaro, there are other historical attractions such as old Chagga caves, Nkosalulu waterfalls, a hot water spring(Kikuletwa) and the oldest churches among other attractions.
