The first German Missionary, Johannes Rebmann came to Machame around 1840s where they built the first church. Later on Jahannes Raum came to expand the missionary tasks in other parts of Kilimanjaro.
You will visit the first church and see the memorial stone which depicts the landmark of early missionary tour story plus other very important details.
